Whether classified as a yet identified cryptid or a werewolf, the Pennsylvania Dogman has resurfaced again in the last few months to remind us that this cryptid isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
The most recent sighting, documented on the Stranger Eons website, occurred in July and was reported anonymously by a man from Penfield, Pennsylvania. On his way home, the witness encountered the creature late in the day along Mountain Run Road.
While enjoying the scenery along this less well-travelled road, the man was shocked when he came around a corner and saw a large ‘brownish-tan’ creature crouching at the side of the road.
Curious, the man slowed down, and that’s when the creature took notice of the intruder.
According to the report, the creature was described as having a large head, a long nose and yellowish, glowing eyes. The man believed he had interrupted that creature in the middle of a meal, perhaps a deer that had been struck by a vehicle.
Frightened, the man floored the accelerator and didn’t let up until he reached home. Apparently still rattled, once in the house he locked the door, grabbed his rifle and armed himself with a silver letter opener. Instinctually he knew this was no normal animal.
At the conclusion of his report, the man noted that he had spoken to a local game commission officer about some dead radio-collared elk. The officer had been investigating the dead animals in the same area and said that one elf looked perfectly healthy apart from having its throat cut – not a wound a bear or other locally known predator would make.
