At first, the passenger thought the dark patch keeping pace among the trees was a deer. Then, in the account, it pulled ahead of the truck and crossed on two legs.

The “Wolfman of Manchester” post appeared in May 2022. Its author explicitly introduces a friend’s perspective. That friend recalls leaving an off-road gathering with two companions in the New Jersey Pine Barrens roughly six years earlier.

The narrator describes dark brown fur, a canine head with pointed ears, and a strongly muscled, human-like upper body. He estimated the figure at about seven feet, using the truck as a rough reference. It allegedly crossed the broad track in a few steps and vanished into the opposite treeline.

The telling includes all three occupants’ reactions, but those reactions are relayed within the same story. No separate witness statements or image accompany the account.

The first, mistaken recognition is its sharpest detail. Something running beside a vehicle belongs to an ordinary driving problem — watch for deer. The narrator says it became a different problem only when he saw how it crossed.

The date remains approximate, and the identification remains his. The account does not establish a May 2016 sighting, only a later recollection that points back toward that year.
