The family occasion was Christmas in July. The strange part, according to the account, came on the drive home.
In a later public narrative about southern Ontario, a man describes traveling with his wife after a gathering on July 19, 2016. Their headlights allegedly caught an upright canine-like figure crossing the road. He estimated its height at roughly seven feet.
The town is not firmly identified. Nor does the presence of two people in the story give us two separately recorded statements: the couple’s experience comes through one narrator. The accessible 2020 post repeats an earlier account, rather than documenting a new encounter in that year.
What makes the recollection unsettling is the interrupted familiarity of it. A family visit has ended; two people are going home. Then a shape in the headlights seems to stand at the wrong height for the animal it resembles.
The account leaves that impression unresolved. It supplies a witness’s date and a broad region, but no photograph or established identification to finish the crossing for everyone else.
