In a story too cliche even for a soap opera, a Colorado woman claims she drove her vehicle backwards into a canal while trying to flee an attacker – a vampire.
At Grand Junction around 9:25 pm on June 27, 2010, the woman claimed she saw a vampire on the road. As a lesson on how NOT to escape from a vampire, the woman, scared for her life, put her 4×4 truck into reverse and accidentally backed into a canal.
Upon further investigation, the police reported finding no sign of the vampire. They also reported no presence of alcohol or drugs on the scene and believed the woman wasn’t under the influence of any type of medication.
The woman wasn’t injured by the ordeal and was eventually picked up by her husband.
Was the woman’s story a ruse to evade further interrogation by the police? Was this perhaps just a case of panic and mistaken identity? Who knows but the woman stands firm that what she saw that night was a blood sucking undead.
The name of the woman was never mentioned by the police as per request but, as reported by KDVR, “The vampire, which was not seen by anyone else, apparently let her get away”.
