A report carried by RegiãOnline on April 19, 2019, crediting BVNEWSMS, places the encounter on Saturday, April 13, during a local power outage. An unnamed woman and her teenage son were travelling by motorcycle from the Serradinho area toward Erva Mate, near Bela Vista, Mato Grosso do Sul.
She described a large, hairy animal with big paws and something human in its appearance. In the motorcycle’s light, it ran into the brush like a dog. Her husband later went to the spot and found nothing.
The woman allowed that she might have been mistaken but thought the animal unlike any she knew. Her son preferred an ordinary explanation: a large dog of an unfamiliar breed. The source supplies no photograph or identified animal that resolves their disagreement.
