The wall separated the houses from the trees. It did not keep the sounds on the other side.

In Amanda Martins’s January 13, 2023 report for O Liberal, residents of Tenoné, in Belém, described howls and glimpses of a shaggy, dog-like animal near the wooded edge of their neighborhood. The reporter visited with local supernatural-story collector Nathan Moura after a video drew attention to the area.

One resident said she and her young grandson saw an animal-like shape by the wall while returning home. She hurried inside and said it remained facing her house. Another woman described hearing a frightening cry on January 10 without seeing its source. Seeing and hearing are different kinds of evidence; the interviews preserve that difference.

Moura offered another reading of the accounts, connecting them with local stories of encantados, or enchanted beings, and residents’ unease about disturbance to the woodland. That was his interpretation, rather than an identified cause.

A January 14 report by Ver-o-Fato makes a useful point about the circulating footage: it contained howling, not a visible werewolf. The camera’s presence did not turn the sound into a creature identification.

The name lobisomem gives the experience a familiar outline, while the accounts themselves remain less settled. A shape by a wall, a cry in the dark and an explanation rooted in local belief do not fit together as neatly as a headline.

The neighborhood’s boundary is the image that lingers. On one side are houses and routines. On the other are trees close enough for something to be heard, and dark enough for its shape to stay uncertain.
