Dogs have an uncanny ability to sense natural disasters. Earthquakes, tornadoes, you name it, they seem to know when danger is near. Now, a recent encounter with a Black Eyed Kid (BEK) confirms man’s best friend just might tip you off to a cryptid prowler.
The reported sighting came from a fellow named Bill whose girlfriend, Adena, and pet dog, Alex, were severely unnerved by an unusual visitor to their home.
The couple was watching TV while Alex lay fast asleep in Adena’s lap. Abruptly, Alex woke and stared at the door, growling. In a moment, he ran off to the bedroom. Bill stated Alex’s sudden retreat was rather uncharacteristic behavior for the pooch.
Then came the knock at the door.
Adena was surprised someone would be knocking on the door so late at night but, nevertheless, she went to the door to see who it could be. At first, peeping through the spy hole, she saw no one.
Then the knock came again, so hard the door vibrated. Adena opened it anyways.
Standing outside was a boy maybe twelve years old. Assuming the stranger was a local kid who’d locked himself out of his home, Adena asked what he wanted. Her body seized the moment she looked into the boy’s completely black eyes. Completely frozen as the child requested to come in.
Alex, probably thinking “why the hell did she open that door,” reappeared from the bedroom manically barking.
The boy asked to use the phone, and Adena was about to say “yes,” but her judgment returned, and she shut the door. She listened for footsteps but heard none. After a few minutes, she opened the door slightly but found the child had vanished.
Perhaps Alex’s barking was all the stood between survival and showing up on a missing person report. Man’s best friend indeed.
