Journal Entry No. 7

I honestly believe I’m becoming insane. Jesus, where do I even begin?

With everything that’s going on right now in my classes, this whole “reappearance” of Sammy has my mind splayed to the four corners of the globe. I mean, what the hell am I supposed to think or do in a situation like this?

Shelly hangs on her every word, not that there’s that many. Mostly breathless, prolonged stares. Now, for some inexplicable reason, Shelly doesn’t seem to mind Tim hanging around. All because Sammy says, “He’s not such a wicked boy after all.”

Really…?!!!? I mean, WTF, Shelly gave him the worst beating of his life. But now because Sammy says so, he’s ok? It’s all just too weird.

So, yesterday we were having burgers at Benny’s when Sammy walks in with Tim. But that’s not the creepy part. Tim was wearing one of those sex shop human dog collars, and Sammy was leading him with a dog chain. His letterman jacket? Absent!

Instead, he was wearing a GG Allin shirt with a black leather vest. Shelly looked up at him then to Sammy, and they both giggled. Did I miss the joke? For as long as I’ve known Tim, he’s been a loudmouth prick, but now he just sits there; staring off into space.

I wasn’t the only one who noticed. A couple of his friends were there and asked if he was ready for Friday. Sammy replied for him, “He’s got better things to do boys.” Tim never uttered a word, he never even blinked.

Inexplicably, Shelly excused herself and disappeared into the bathroom. She left me there with Sammy and the lobotomized version of Tim.

All I could do was stare at Tim; it was tough not to. But I caught Sammy looking me over, so I glanced back at her. When our eyes met, she smiled and gave a little wink. My mouth went instantly dry. What was that?

Sammy giggled when Shelly came back, but Shelly never asked her what was so funny. My guess was Shelly already knew.

Then, Sammy just bolted, Tim in tow. The S&M scene’s never bothered me before, but I have to say, those two completely freaked me out. When Sammy pulled on Tim’s collar, it lifted, and I could see blood smeared around his neck. Nasty!

That brings me to the “goodnight kiss” after I walked Shelly home. She’s never kissed me like that before. It was thick and steamy, very forceful. Albeit she squeezed me so tight that I couldn’t breathe, it was a very welcome ending to a strange day. But I can’t help thinking her behavior is connected to Sammy coming back.

At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me to find out Shelly wore a dog collar.
